What is Tsiknopempti?
Also known as Charred Thursday or Smoky Thursday, Tsiknopempti is one of the biggest highlights of Apókries, the Greek Carnival season. Taking place on the second-to-last Thursday before Lent, it’s a day dedicated to feasting, where the smell of grilled meats fills the air from early morning until late at night.

But Tsiknopempti isn’t just about food – it’s about celebration, music, dancing, and drinking. Whether with family, friends, or colleagues, everyone dresses up, dances to classic Carnival tunes, and raises a glass (or two) to the most festive Thursday of the year.

Limassol AGORA: The Heart of the Celebration
Situated in the heart of the city, Limassol AGORA was the central gathering point for thousands of Carnival lovers on Tsiknopempti 2025, welcoming an incredible 18,000 visitors throughout the day.
Here’s how it all went down: Here’s how it all went down: Limassol AGORA was buzzing with excitement as Mayor Yiannis Armeftis and King of Carnival 2025, Vasilis Papavasiliou, made a grand appearance, adding a touch of prestige to the celebrations.

Teenagers flooded in, grabbing a bite and challenging each other at Players Arians Arcade before heading back to the street parties.

Meanwhile, Azul By Kesh’s rooftop bar hosted a private corporate party, where colleagues danced and enjoyed drinks with stunning balcony views of the Carnival chaos below.
Over in the AGORA square, Alexandrou Group and Aerojet Boats kept the party alive with their own lively corporate celebration.

Families with little ones found their festive corner at PlayLounge, ensuring even the youngest visitors had their share of fun.
Beyond AGORA’s walls, the city streets overflowed with revelers embracing the Carnival spirit, while others took a well-earned break at AGORA, indulging in delicious food and drinks before jumping back into the celebrations.
